Psalm 90:14-17- Satisfy Me in the Morning August 11th, 2015
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all of our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us and for as many years as we have seen evil.
Let you work be shown to your servants and your glorious power to thier children.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
I’ve continued in my study of James, but this morning I spent some time in reflection on this Psalm. It has proven timely in my current situation. We are a touch anxious for Tuck and the beginning of Kindergarten, Lindsey is taking it hard and I didn’t sleep well… I ‘m up early, so obviously I am taking it hard too. I am worrysome and anxious about other things related to church and life. I am struggling with some of my past failure as a leader and have a nagging insecurity of which I ask myself “Do you have blindspots in leadership? What are they? Why can’t you get the result you want from people?”. The Psalm is good! This morning it reminds me that my job is to seek God in the morning, so that I can find satisfaction in him and not in what others do or don’t do. It reminds me that God is the one who will make me prosper, not my own ability or inability.
Satisfy me with your presence and teach me to rejoice!
